REE recently completed the design of a closure solution for a 200ha tailings dam at a mine site in the Northern Territory. As the project now transitions into physical closure activities, our team flew to site to provide the mine’s rehabilitation team with training on the flora sampling regime to enable long term performance monitoring. The site rehabilitation team comprises mostly of local Aboriginal people with an exceptional knowledge of the flora and bush tucker species to be sampled. We hope that our combined efforts continue to assist with ongoing indigenous employment opportunities beyond mine closure.
